March Open House
Calling all prospective students! St. Jerome’s University is hosting their annual March Break Open House this Saturday, March 22, 10:00 - 16:00. In addition to academic interest sessions, Lab Director, Dr. Steven Bednarski will be delivering a lecture titled “Environments of Change: St. Jerome's and the DRAGEN Lab.”
In this lecture, Dr. Bednarski explores the intersection of digital technologies and the medieval environment. His research is at the forefront of the digital humanities combining climate change, natural challenges and environmental history. Hear first-hand how students from the DRAGEN Lab practice experimental archaeology, engage in 3D scanning and printing, contribute to the development of pedagogical video game design and deploy lidar and GIS mapping - all to bring history to life. This interdisciplinary approach allows students to explore the complex connections between people, technology and the natural environment.
Dr. Bednarski's lecture will highlight examples from the Environments of Change Project - a research initiative that uses innovative methods to understand how the past can inform solutions for the future.
Whether you are curious about history, science or technology, discover how immersing yourself in the study of the Middle Ages helps to reframe the world's challenges and chart a path toward a shared future.
Join him at 13:30 p.m. in the SJ2, Vanstone Lecture Hall, Room 1004 for his free lecture.
